I had an incredibly rough semester–health issues seemed to magically clear up to low, manageable levels despite there being tons of added and unprecedented stress, but I also took many hard “terminal” classes in my major. I only have one more class for my major and I need to begin my minor–then I’ll be set to graduate :).
Unfortunately I think I’ve been hit with the senioritis barrier. I have absolutely no desire to complete my minor. Anyone else feel this way or ever felt this way? What did you do or what do you think you will do to overcome it?
If you are a senior, you may be interviewing for jobs by now (go check with your career services office asap!)
Talk to them if your minor is even needed. Make sure you graduate, keep your GPA…and then if you want, do the minor. Will the minor help in getting a job? Can you just take some classes without officially minoring?
@bopper, alas it’s a departmental requirement that I have a minor for my degree. My minor requires 18 hours and I only have 4 hours counting towards it right now. And here’s how it’s looking:
Spring 2016: Last class for my major and 2nd intro class for my minor
Summer: 3rd class for my minor
Fall 2016: 4th class for my minor
Spring 2017: Last class for my minor.
I am completely bottlenecked by my minor–it’d just be me taking one class per semester from here on out which is just awful.
I agree that it’s a good idea to start interviewing or looking at grad school. I currently have a 4.0 in my major. I might consider Ivy League this time around (Just for fun, maybe even get a novelty rejection letter from Standford or somewhere :D)
Well, sounds like you are going to have to figure out a way to push through it if it is a requirement. Is there any way you could do one or more of the courses online and double up, therefore cutting your timeline to finish in half? If not, could you do an internship or research job during those terms that you are only taking one class?
