I’m a senior looking to add to my college list. So far I have UMASS Amherst (hoping for honors college), UVM, Brandeis, and Brown. I think I need more match schools in terms of both admissions and price.
I’m looking for:
Small class sizes
Linguistics major or minor - anthropology, environmental science/studies majors
Generous merit-based aid
Northeast/Mid-Atlantic
Pretty campus in/near small city
Not a party school
Study Abroad
My Stats: 3.7 (unweighted) / 2140
Finances:
I can afford up to $27,000 a year out of pocket from my and my parents’ savings. I’d like to avoid loans. It is unlikely my family will qualify for need-based financial aid, so I want to find schools with either strong merit-based aid or an affordable price point. I live in Massachusetts.
Schools I like seem to be very expensive with only need-based aid or they don’t have any linguistics program (I’d like to at least minor in that). Ex. I absolutely love Haverford and Connecticut College, but neither offers any merit aid, and both are too expensive.
Thanks for your help!
