Hey,

So I am currently a college sophomore and after poor academic results I was suspended by my college for poor academic performance the spring semester. I do know what I should do to get accepted back for the fall (online course for the class I failed, internship in the major, and a job) but it has only been a few days since the semester started and I have been utterly depressed and not sure how to get over it. I know it'll take some time to get used to this, but I just feel so lonely since my friends are all back at college (friends in my college and other college) and I've lost interest in all of the things that I find fun and I just sit around thinking about how bad this spring will be (the internship and classes don't start for another few weeks). I have a faithful girlfriend for almost a year in college but we did almost everything together and we still talk constantly (and I will see her and stay over with her about 5 times a month) but it isn't the same. We're optimistic we work this semester through but I am so upset that I performed poorly that it drags the rest of my mood (and the rest of the day) down. Just wanted to know what I could do to stay optimistic on all aspects of this situation (academically, psychologically, physically, socially, in the relationship) and how I can stay motivated to perform well. Thank you.
