College Tours

Hi all,

I need help! We live in the midwest and do not make much money. My daughter wants to visit a few colleges on the east coast. Does anyone know if colleges pay for potential students to come and tour? She is a first generation, minority student with excellent grades.

The best way to find out would be to call or email the admissions rep for your area.

One of the schools we visited reimbursed partial airfare. It’s Bryant in Rhode Island - they paid $300 toward airfare for a visit; later, if you choose to attend, they reimburse you another $300.

Some schools do have weekends in the fall with events for minority/low income/diverse students. Best way to find out now is to contact the individual schools.

Is she a current junior? Many colleges have summer programs designed to introduce their schools to first generation students.

Many of the top tier schools pay full boat for kids like yours to attend their diversity open houses.
