So here's the situation:

Duke is offering to fly me to Durham for a weekend on April 8th. This girl's prom is also on the 8th, but I can go to Duke one day late and still make the interview for one of their full-ride scholarships. I have only gotten into MIT so far, and deferred from Harvard. The ideal case would be getting into MIT, Harvard, and Princeton. Now, I have to be home on the 11th for a science fair, so I have two options:

1) Go to Duke from 9th to the 10th and then come home and be done.
2) Visit MIT (and possibly Harvard/Princeton if I get in) from the 5th to the 8th and then do the Duke thing until the 10th and then come home and be done.
3) Go to Duke from the 9th to the 10th, and then leave again for MIT and wherever else I get in (out of H and P) on the 12th for a few days.

Are college visitations that important? If not, then is (1) a good option? MIT is probably my first choice, and then Harvard, Princeton, and Duke as 4th or 5th (although I don't know about the ranking given the full-ride scholarship...).

My parents want me to do (2), but that makes me miss her prom (even though she's coming to mine) and I would feel bad if she can't go to her own prom. (3) costs the same as (2) since single way and round trip fares are almost the same, but there's a chance Duke covers all of (2), so (3) could end up being $300 more, and also if I don't get in to H or P, I'll have nothing to do for the 4-5 scheduled days, while if I go to MIT during the 5th, even if I get in nowhere else, I can hang out at their Campus Preview Weekend.

So I'm basically asking what's the best thing to do.
