Hey!! I am giving my tenth this year and would be appearing for college admission in 2022. I want to go to harvard but i am just a kind of studious student… Only good at academics… Is there any chance of my selection in harvard? What should i probably do to increase my chances??
There are two things that immediately come to mind:
First of all: How are your grades?
Secondly: Why do you want to go to Harvard? This is a very important question. Many students want to attend Harvard because it is famous, or because they think that it is “the best”. The reality is that highly ranked schools such as Harvard are very good for some students, but are actually a bad match for most of the students who think they want to go there. Fortunately the admissions staff at top schools are relatively good at sorting this out.
What do you want in a university? Do you have any idea at this point what you want to study in university?
Also, the phrase “giving my tenth” makes me think that you are an international student. What country are you from?
As an international applicant, you have a 2% chance if you have a strong application. Without seeing your application, or at least your stats and ECs, nobody here can tell you how to improve your chances to Harvard, or any top US school.
I would add that it is better to live your high school life without too much focus on college admissions, at least for another year. Don’t do anything simply to “increase your chances.” If you have interests, follow them and otherwise work hard (as you are) and try to be a good person
If you are indeed international, pay attention to that 2% and maybe don’t stress unnecessarily about fitting yourself to the school. Instead be yourself, and find a school that fits you.
