Collegeboard Answer Key is wrong?

Hey CCers,

So I was going through some practice tests when I came across questions that didn't have a correct answer or had the wrong answer as marked right. (I'm not BSing here, one was "find the angle measure of z+x when z+ x were alternate exterior angles on a transversal, so it's obviously 180 and another- I checked it with CC and the internet and solved it myself and the collegeboard answer was just wrong. )

I even had my dad (engineer) and my dad's friend (a math prof!) look it over and they both said the answers were wrong.

Do I just have messed up tests or something? Or is this actually pretty common? (It was the 10-11 practice test and some tests a kid gave me from the official course).

Thanks! I just thought it was really weird.

Never heard of this

Yes, I found it really weird myself. Maybe I’ll just stick to the blue book for now.

Actually- I just compared the essay question with the answer key. It’s completely different but it’s apparently for the same test. I’m guessing collegeboard used the same questions but perhaps in different sections.

There’s a couple of essay questions for each SAT

I think that question got printed wrong. I was really tripped up by that, as well, but it seems that the original question was actually correct and one of the variables somehow got shifted over when it was being copied at some point. (I saw the correct version of that question somewhere online)
