I used my free score reporting option to send scores after giving my October 2016 SAT. However, my scores haven’t been sent till now. CollegeBoard reported me the error is from their side and asked ME to pay for sending scores. What should I do now? Application will get delayed and I couldn’t and don’t want to pay!
@MITExpert there’s not much you can do if you don’t want your application delayed. Pay now and keep excellent documentation of the error and fight for a refund, I doubt you’ll succeed but it’s worth a try.
@3scoutsmom, yes you’re right. However would become a financial barrier for me to apply to college as I am unable to pay
I called them. They said they do not have ANY record of me submitting a request to send scores. I decided to pay BUT I asked her what should I do to make sure scores are sent and things like this won’t happen. The representative was speechless! Call got disconnected right after that.
@MITExpert you might try to contact the college directly and ask if they will tentatively accept an unofficial copy of your scores while you try to resolve this matter with the College Board, they may not but it’s better than doing nothing.
One of my children was taking a dual enrollment course at a local community college and they required a copy of his SATs for registration. He was planning to retake his SAT the next month and I didn’t want to waste money on having the old score set. The admission office allowed him to show his old scores from his College Board account on-line for ‘temporary approval’ with the understanding that the new “official” scores would be forthcoming.
Sending score reports is one of the least expensive parts of the college process, much less expensive than the exam fee. If you got a fee waiver for the test you should be able to get a waiver for sending the scores too (at least this is how it works in the US not sure how waivers are handled internationally) you should talk to your guidance counselor about this.
