Collegeboard Fee Waiver language a lot cleaer this year...

I remember a lot of confusion over the "Realize Your College Potential" packets the CB mailed out last year with fee waivers included. I notice this year they are very clear about using the fee waivers only if you would otherwise qualify for one.

Ok, can you clarify for me, last school year our income qualified for reduced lunch so we got fee waivers for the two sat she took, this school year we don’t qualify for reduced lunch, but since she used a fee waiver for the sat previously does that mean she is allowed to also use fee waivers for college applications?

I don’t know, but there is some info here: <a href=“Higher Education Professionals | College Board”>Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

Yes, I assume they sent us this packet because of test scores and using a fee waiver for SAT.

Thanks for that link, there is a phone number listed, I might give them a call.

The college board is not longer giving paper fee waivers to the high schools. Every student who is eligible for application fee waiver (because they were eligible for testing fee waivers, will be sent their fee waivers electronically directly from the college board.

I just posted in another thread, and DS qualified for fee waiver for subject tests.

We did not get any notification,

I called his GC and she said she has to handle these. ???

I still think there is stil a lot of confusion surrounding these application fee waivers.

Apparently there are different kinds, some you are to automatically get in your online SAT account fall of senior year if you used a SAT or subject test waiver.

And others are sent to some students in the “realize your college potential” packet, but are for a limited list of schools.

Then there are NACAC fee waivers and fee waivers through the common app or directly from schools.

Before you apply, check and see if the school charges an application fee, some don’t, or they waive it for online application.

Sometimes you get emails from schools and they offer free app if applying by a certain date.

Or if you visit the school some may waive the fees.
