I was wondering; I know my school ranks on a 4.0 scale, 4.0 being a 100. I've noticed that a lot of other schools rank on a 4.33 scale. My current gpa is a 3.6 which I guess would translate to 3.9 on a 4.33 scale. Would colleges then convert my gpa to a 3.9? And do these colleges use the 4.33 or 4.0 scale when they report incoming freshman statistics?

all colleges have their own system, but i think most of them are based around the 4.0 being 100%

"My current gpa is a 3.6 which I guess would translate to 3.9 on a 4.33 scale. Would colleges then convert my gpa to a 3.9? "

Wrong...
The only thing a 4.33 scale does is give you extra points for getting an A+. Therefore your GPA would probably be a 3.67 or maybe a little higher depending on how many A+'s you have received.

P.S. At one point in my life I actually thought the same way as you and I was freakin' out about my GPA, but on a 4.0 scale my GPA only drops like .05.

The reason I'm asking is b/c the highest gpa in my class is a 3.8 or ~95%. I've seen a lot of kids on this forum with 4.0's.

We are forgetting something, GPA is NOT based number grade out of 100, it is based on a letter grade (Note, I am talking about real GPA).

Well, my school bases gpa on a number grade. I have just above a 90 average or a 3.6 as is stated on my school report. On the other hand, my transcript says I have a 121.43 out of 130. It's all really confusing.

My school doesn't give A+
