GPA/grading system question

can someone clarify for me how a 4.0 high school scale matches up with a 100 high school scale?
(unweighted grading)
does 4.0 = 100?
or 4.0 = 96-100?
or something completely different? or they can't really be matched up like this?
im just curious because i see most kids posting GPAs on a 4.0 scale but i have never received grades as a GPA and would like to be able to relate to their grades.

is 3.8 just converted from something on a 100 scale?

im just confused by all this -thanks

It depends on what your school considers As or Bs
4.0 = A
3.0 = B
2.0 = C
1.0 = D, F

So at my school As are 90-100 and Bs are 80-89, etc

But like you mentioned, some schools consider As 93-100, Bs 87-92
