Colleges and the SAT?

I am wondering if colleges weigh one particular section of the SAT more heavily depended on what the student's area of interest/intended major is?

For example... Say a student shows great enthusiasm and passion for engineering, science, or something of that sort... Would colleges then weigh the math SAT score much more heavily then the CR and Writing sections? Or say another student is very passionate about pursuing a career/major in English or writing. Will the CR and Writing sections then be looked at more critically than the math?

Generally speaking, most colleges tend to weigh the CR and M heavily than W… Certainly, if you intend to major, for e.g., in engeneering, you are expect to have higher M scores, but I don’t think high scores in this section gives you any particular advantage (I mean, any more than high scores in CR) because most students who want to major in this or in related fields also tend to have higher M scores.
