Colleges don't want to see Math 1 SAT?

I'm trying to decide which SAT2's to take and I've been told that taking Math 1 is pointless and colleges only want to see Math 2. I can't take Math 2 cause I don't take Precalc till senior year. Should I take the Math1? Or just take other SAT 2's?

Other SAT IIs.

It does not hurt to take Math1, but it does not help either if you are going to take Math2 later on anyway. For non-engineering or non-science major, Math1 subject test is fine. Nevertheless, if you have the option to take other subject tests, why not.

Also, the Math 1 grading curve is awful. I got an 800 on the sat I section, 800 on the math ii, and a 710 on math I. So be careful with math I. No matter what buy a really good practice book

Not sure where you are getting that incorrect info about math 1. For colleges that require or recommend subject tests, math 2 is sometimes needed if applying for engineering or science and a few (such as Caltech) require or recommend it for some other majors but for the most part colleges otherwise accept math 1. In other words do not base decision on the misconception that the colleges will cut you down a notch for submitting math 1.
