Jerrylaurie, what wonderful news for your son! Congratulations!

To chrism: I keep telling my D that she will end up where she truly is supposed to be, and I do belive that, but sometimes I think that even though her passion is MT, that where she needs to be might be in some other major. She is not having any trouble getting into colleges academically, but the MT programs are soooo competitive. Have any of your children chosen back-up plans that might involve other majors?

Still awaiting news from Emerson! (Our mail generally comes around 3:00, so maybe today!) By the way, does anyone have any stats on EA deferalls who eventually get accepted?

Happy holidays, then round 2 of auditions!!!!

Does anyone know when OCU's School of Music letters go out? When my D auditioned on Nov. 19, they told us we would hear something in 3-4 weeks. Already got the school acceptance ( in a skinny envelope!). Anyway, just let us know if anyone gets a letter soon.

Tell your daughter that the competition for girls is unfortunatelty much stiffer than it is for boys. It's one of the worst parts of this for girls.

From what I've heard, a deferral to Emerson is still very good. She shouldn't give up hope.

my d auditioned nov 20. we talked to the school last week and were told they would go our this past mon. didn't hear anything yesterday, wednesday. hope for something today. good luck.

i guess this is crazy, but i'm searching for a mom who we visited with quite a bit at the ocu auditions on nov. 20. if you read this, you'll know who you are. you are from minnesota i think and have a son. you talked about being an athlete in college, running, i think. you initially thought we were someone you had talked to on this forum because my daughter has long brown hair. meant to get an email or something. we still haven't heard anything, though the letters are supposed to be out this week. wondered if you had. jamie in texas
