Hello I am a high school student and I have great interest in becoming a neurosurgeon, I am sure it will be hard but can anyone recommend colleges near the eastern cost that are really good, if possible please tell me lowest possible GPA to get into the college you recommend.

Brown
Hopkins
MIT
Columbia

What state are you from?
Usually only state flagships post a minimum required GPA. Others don’t publish data about GPA at all. Try looking at Naviance for your school; you should see what GPA/SAT combos got in places. However, there are exceptions - i.e. legacy, sports, health issues, etc.

As for neuroscience schools, I’m looking at those too!
I have a really crappy GPA, so I’m not looking at highly ranked places.

But, if you’re on CC and say “really good,” I’m sure highly ranked is what you mean. Sorry if I’m wrong. But anyways, here goes,
Highly ranked colleges with good neuroscience programs: Brown, Amherst, MIT, Columbia, Colgate, Duke (if you’re okay with further south), Bowdoin, etc.

Check out Pitt and U Rochester. They aren’t on the coast (if that’s what you meant), but they are in eastern states (what I think you wanted).

Try using the college search tool here on CC, it tries to use your gpa and test scores to find schools that match the rest of your criteria.
Most schools do not publish a “minimum” GPA, but many publish the GPA ranges of incoming freshmen in their Common Data Sets.
You may want to do some reading on the pre-med forum.
And do a search in this forum for neuroscience, this question gets asked frequently…
