Colleges for Queers

Hey, I'm looking for gay friendly colleges, preferably in the New England/NY/PA/NJ area.

I know many of the most gay-friendly colleges are difficult to get into. Places such as Williams, Tufts, NYU, Bard, Wesleyan etc.

I am 3rd in my class, but my school has a bad record for acceptances, and I didn't do so great on my SAT.

So, I'm having trouble finding gay friendly schools that are easier to get into. Right now I have, for safeties/matches - Wells College, Suffolk University, Wheaton College (MA) and Sarah Lawrence College.

I wouldn't want a huge party school nor would I want a huge school in general. Other than that, I'd go for pretty much anything...

I would like some more gay-friendly colleges to consider for safeties/matches. Any suggestions would be welcome!!!!

Thanks muchly! :-)

Hampshire? Near Amherst in MA.

Possibly find a college search engine and click that you want a school with an LGBTQ club

If you're majoring in communications, film, theater, or similar, Emerson College is perfect. Boston University has a sizeable number of gay students, but it's larger than the other schools you mentioned.

New York University.

DePaul University

Princetonreview has a list of schools that are "gay friendly". You have to sign up to check it out, though (which I would recommend anyway; PR was definitely an invaluable source while I was looking at colleges). Some schools that seem less selective are Eugene Lang, College of the Atlantic, Bennington College, Lawrence University, & Hampshire College.

I just decided to apply to huge, liberal state schools thinking that 40,000 undergrad meant more gay people no matter which way you looked at it :).

I heard Itacha College is very friendly.
