Hey guys!
I know colleges in Canada like UBC, UT, and McGill. I know that these three are the top colleges in Canada and known around the world as well. I also hear that admission for these top colleges are not as hard? as they are expected to be? Like getting in is actually pretty easy? But then I heard that getting good grades and graduation rate is really difficult...

Any feedback, opinions...on these Canadian schools?

I really want to go to a well known school...obviously because it has many benefits and I am dubious about acceptance in the US...

Thanks!

This is an old topic and if you run a search on Canadian colleges or the specific universities you referenced you will see plenty of chatter. Still, what you are saying is partly true, Canadian universities are “easier” to get into because they don’t look at ECs. And only look at SATs for Americans. Some like U of T, ( not UT) McGill and Queen’s have the academic rigor of the Ivies. But there are other draw backs: McGill and U of T have large class sizes in freshman classes and with Canadian dollar on par or higher than the U.S dollar, you are not getting the same premium as the students who attended in the 90’s who then ran back to the U.S to rave about how fabulous their education was in world class cities like Toronto and Montreal with dirt cheap tuition. Also, keep in mind easier admit depends on your major, Engineering at U of T has extremely low admit rates or rather extremely high academic standards. Anyway, good luck with your search. There are plenty of forums for these Canadian colleges in the college section of this website.
