If we have a chance to move to London as ex-pats in the summer before my daughter's senior year and she finishes high school at an American style school in London what does anyone know what her options for college in the UK would be? I think admission to a good British school like London School of Economics would be practically nil. There are other American-style schools in London that are affiliated with kind of no-name colleges here (at least I've never heard of them). Does anyone know if they're any good? My daughter would probably be applying to NYU-Stern or Carnegie-Mellon here. Would she be better off still going there even if we're so far away?

UCL (university college london) is a good option, as its not as selective, but still a great place (and it's in London). also, it sort of depends on what kind of assessments this school of hers is going to give. UK admissions is based very strongly on standardized tests, such as IB, or A-levels. if she takes something of that kind, she has a good chance of finding a good college in the UK. however, if by the end of high school, ur daughter has no assessments to vouch for, u don't stand much of a chance in the UK, and it would be better to go to college back here

that's how i see it, at least.

What are A-levels? She's taking a lot of APs but no IBs. Do they look at SATs at all?

they dont look at satz...........A levels are british examinations and they have courses similar to APs
