I heard that many colleges calculate their own GPA when they look at your transcript. Like if you had an A in a class, they'd give you a 4.0...a B gets a 3.0...and so on. If this is true, do they look at final grades in classes only, or do they look at all of your grades for every single quarter? How do most schools go about doing this?

GPAs are only calculated with final grades. (But they will look at your quarter/semester grades if your HS includes them on your transcript; most don't.)
