Colleges similar to Cornell, Tufts, and Vanderbilt

These are my top schools that I've seen so far, but the only one I've been to is Tufts, what I know about Cornell and Vandy are from research. Now you may be saying that it's impossible to give similar schools as the schools aren't very similar, so I'll tell you my favorite things about each of them.

Cornell
-good acadmics
-gay friendly
-big party scene
-Perfect level of Frat involvement, enough so you can go to the frat and party and have fun whenever you want, but not enough so that they completely dominate everything.

Tufts
-Great campus, Cornell and Vandy may have a similar campus, but I really loved the campus
-Very gay friendly
-Good academics
-I'm not sure how their party scene is, I heard not too good though since they don't have many frats.

Vandy
-It's WARM!!!!!!!!!
-Good academics
-Southern Hospitality :)
-Great parties
-Possibly an overwhelming amount of Frats, I'm not sure
-Also not sure how gay friendly they are :(

Tulane? U of Miami?

Northwestern
UC Berkeley
USC (Southern CA)

Vandy is NOT that gay friendly…

Boston University

Amherst College

Cornell . . . Northwestern
Tufts . . . Rice
Vandy . . . Wake Forest

I actually posted that question in the Vandy forum and got no replies. I’m just a little confused about that because CC lists it as a gay friendly school.

Brandeis, emory, tulane, johns hopkins, cooper union, carnegie-mellon, bu, bc, wash. U., lehigh.

Penn.

Great academics, great urban campus, the “Social Ivy,” and consistently ranked as one of the most gay-friendly schools in the country:

[The Daily Pennsylvanian :: Penn tops gay-friendly ranking](Penn tops gay-friendly ranking | The Daily Pennsylvanian)

Wustl is a great school, great city, great research, and very gay friendly

William & Mary, Georgetown

Colgate
Amherst
Williams
Vassar
Notre Dame
Georgetown
Boston College
Colgate
Amherst
Williams
Vassar
Notre Dame
Georgetown
University of Chicago

Don’t know why they were left out, but Northwestern and Northeastern.

If you like Cornell and Vandy, you should like UVA, Northwestern and Wake. (Wake may not be very gay friendly – not sure. It seems fairly conservative.) I see a lot of similarities between Cornell and Vandy; however, Tufts is pretty different from both, IMO. D applied to all, and they’re all great, but Tufts is more like WUST.

Cornell and Michigan have much in common. Cornell was co-founded by a University of Michigan professor on very similar principles and since its founding, 6 of Cornell’s 12 presidents were either Michigan staff or alums.

Emory, Rice, and Northwestern
