Hi,
I am a senior and I’m preparing for my universities path. I want to ask your opinion about schools or states that Big Four often recruits or schools that provide best career chances. Thank you very much
Go on the Career Development page of any college’s website and look at the recruiting calendar which will show which companies interview when. If you check a college which does not have the kind of companies you are interested in interviewing there, that tells you something.
University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Business
Do not base your choices just on this factor. You are much more than just a person to be recruited by certain firms. Look at many other factors in a school. btw, I’m biased, but the UW above has an excellent campus and so many fields other than business to give a great academic experience.
They recruit from lots of schools in lots of states. What are your qualifications, location, interests and budget?
Looking at Deloitte’s website (Careers/Students/Undergraduate), they recruit in almost all the states. Maybe they choose more students from some subset over others, but they visit a wide range of schools.
I would use other factors (cost, location, size, most common majors) to make a list.
They will recruit at most flagship universities with a strong accounting program.
UT-Austin is an obvious answer for someone who wants to practice in TX (from another of your threads).
UIUC also has an excellent undergrad accounting program and I know PwC recruits heavily there (my ex was a partner and, as an alum, was active in PwC’s recruiting efforts at UIUC for a while).
If I study in school which is unfortunately not included in their recruitment list, will I be able to just send my resume ask for a chance :\ ?
If you search “big four” you will find a site which will give you information about each of them and how and where they recruit. Lots of good information.
Just get great grades and you should have a chance of getting on with a Big 4. Your university should have a student accounting society where you can get info on recruiting.
