<p>I don't get it. Why wouldn't schools consider it? Care to elaborate?</p>
<p>The Writing portion of the SAT is so new, that many schools have reported that they are not yet using it as a tool, when considering applicants.</p>
<p>Instead, they are accumulating data based on the writing portion, and will analyze it (perhaps against students' future writing in classes), to decide whether or not it has value.</p>

<p>The thing that confuses me though about the writing section is that many schools required that students had taken the SAT2 in Writing for the old SAT's. What did they do before?</p>
