Colleges that provide Financial Aid for Intenational Students

I just got my SAT results and it's not so good.
GOT 1800 overall [CR-540]

I am appearing for SAT Subject Tests this December.

I am applying for Engineering for fall 2013.
I need some colleges that will provide me with very high financial aids. I can't afford more than 2K/yr.
And, of course, I am an International Student.

With this SAT score you can try TAMU or ASU although I doubt financial aid will be as high as you want.

TAMU and ASU won’t work for an int’ls. He won’t get any aid.

With that SAT score, the chances of finding the aid that this student needs is highly unlikely. The schools that give lots of aid or merit to int’ls require higher scores.

This student needs a complete total free ride, since the family contribution will only pay for int’l travel. I can’t think of any school that will give this student a total free ride, including personal expenses, with that SAT score.

Even a domestic student would have a hard time finding a total free ride with that SAT score. The truth is, that if all students with that SAT could get a free ride, the entire FA and merit system would have to be totally different from what it really is.

Texas A&M and TTU provide International TPEG while ASU offers $5000 scholarship for internationals and is relatively cheap, but definitely would require more input than $2000 yearly.

I know I can do better than that score but I dont have enough time. The next date for taking SAT is JAN 26 2013. I am already registered for Dec 1 SAT subject Tests. What do u think shud I do?

If you don’t exaggerate with those $2000 per year, it would be really tough for you to study in the US. The aced subject tests won’t help you much with this reasoning test score.

There are more financial aid opportunities when you apply to a graduate school so just get your Bachelor’s degree from another country and you can then apply to a graduate school in the US.

I was talking about taking SAT reasoning again in JAN 26. I am just worried that even if I manage to get a good SAT reasoning score on this one, I would obviously have failed to meet many of the (regular) deadlines. So, it could just be a waste of money and more importantly a waste of my time.

You are right about those deadlines, do not register.
