There is a community college about 10 minutes from the house we live in. But that is a last resort. If my gpa isn’t weighted to about 3.5 or higher by senior year then I will consider taking a gap year. But I’m going to work my butt of next year and senior year and talk to my counselor to see what I can make up as well.
If you can afford it, a PG year wouldn’t jeopardize your freshman status and would allow you to increase your gpa. Better than a community college.
However you can use the cc to supplement course rigor.
Colleges may or may not look at weighted GPA (selective colleges typically separate unweighted GPA and rigor, and often recalculate GPA removing health and physical education.)
Just an update guys: I passed all of my finals and ended with 2 As, 4 Bs, and 1 C and I plan on retaking 2 classes (algebra 2 and possibly chemistry) to replace the credit for a higher one. So yay! Not as bad as I was doing and I studied my read end off lol
There a consortium of New England colleges where going oos to a public school in another New England state allows you to get a big discount to the out of state price if your major isn’t offered in your home state. Check it out:
