Colleges/Universities that offer lots of financial aid?

I know the Ivy League schools are very generous with their financial aid. What are some other colleges that also give lots of financial aid?

Careful with “meet full need,” as the college calculated what “need,” “full,” and “meet” mean, and it can often be rather disappointing.
Whether these people complaining received fair packages or not cannot be concluded from the limited information at hand, but it does go to show that “meeting full need” is not so simple.

Personally, I can only attest to the outstanding financial aid at Notre Dame. They asked for far more information than any other school I applied to, and went with the lowest possible EFC from the various forms. The vast majority of students seem happy with their financial aid (possibly contributing to the very high yield). There are, of course, some people with unrealistic expectations that are disappointed, but you’ll find that anywhere.

Over 85% of students at Flagler College receive a form of aid. I had over 90% of my need covered last year. I am from a low income home yet able to completely avoid loans. Good luck.

Swarthmore and the University of Richmond have amazing financial aid.

There are a number of threads on this topic in the Financial Aid Forum, and a few more in the Parents Forum. Spend a bit of time scrolling down through the threads in those places and you will find lots of useful ideas.

UC are very generous, my friend has an EFC of 5000 dollars an grant her 16,000 on pure grants plus 10000 sub loan for her off-campus living, not bad eh, UC-Riverside
