Colleges with good availability of single rooms as a housing choice

Northeastern if the Freshman is in Honors housing.

St. Lawrence University has a lot of single rooms.

Hampshire College (MA) seems to have a housing shortage, one of D’s friends was living in a lounge, temporarily converted to residential space.

Many diverse choices are mentioned. First, come up with the best fit colleges. Then investigate housing options. Examine the reasons for wanting a single- there have been past threads where the reasons were not very good, more like spoiled child than otherwise. The OP can make a list of 10 or 20 or whatever good fit schools, then eliminate and rank according to the housing options. Starting with housing ignores too many other important factors.

singles make up slightly over 80% of the housing at Hampshire College, so it is rare that (even first-year) students have a roommate unless they want one.
