Colleges With Good Fight Songs

i know this is a bit frivolous, but i was wondering which colleges have fight songs so good that they would make me want to enroll

Eastern Michigan University has a catchy tune.

Michigan and Notre Dame are generally believed to have the best fight songs, but other schools (Army, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Navy, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC and Wisconsin all come to mind) also have nice fight songs.

My favorite is the old Tom Lehrer song, Fight Fiercely Harvard.

UCLA stole Berkeley’s fight song in 1984.

Michigan’s fight song is classic.

I like USC’s fight songs…the lyrics go like this:
“That is the only song you know…
It’s boring and it’s slow…
We’d really wish you’d go…” :)

The Washington and Lee Swing has taken on a life of its own as a big band and jazz standard.

[NCAA College Football Fight Songs Music](http://fightmusic.com/)

I’m a Tar Heel born
I’m a Heel bred
and when I die
I’m a Tar Heel dead
So rah rah Car’lina 'lina
Rah rah Car’lina 'lina
Rah rah rah
GO TO HELL DUKE!

I think everyone gets attached to their college’s fight song. It is just inevitable.

ROCKY TOP BABY! Tennessee by far.

I see that Tar Heels and Sooners are both looking forward to being “dead”

Just listen to the USC band play “Fight On” . Its on You tube.

The Michigan fight song was written in the 1890s. It’s so old that when it was written, touchdowns and field goals both counted five points and passing was illegal. It’s so ancient that it ends “Hail, hail, to Michigan the champions of the West” because the Big Ten Conference was then called the “Western Conference,” there being little college football of note to the west of there. If you’re looking for tradition and legacy, “The Victors” is hard to beat.

Wake Forest also has a ubiquitous fight song, but since fight songs tend to be played after the team scores, you don’t get to hear “Oh Here’s to Wake Forest” all that much. :)

Wow, Carolina’s fight song sucks almost as badly as their basketball team does… What? What? 82-50? What??

DUKE <3

Fight, Fight Blue Devils,
Fight for Duke and the Blue and White.
March on through,
For the touchdown’s there for you
Go get 'em
Duke is out to win today
Carolina, GO TO HELL (EAT SH1T!)
So turn on the steam team
Fight Blue Devils fight!

1. The Victors

2. The fight song from some college that Hawkette likes

^^^You mean the one she attended? I doubt she liked it all that well.

Pomona College has a fight song that is in a league all its own:

When Cecil Sagehen Chirps
He’s gonna fracture the foes of Pomona’s might,
When Cecil Sagehen Chirps
He’s gonna wail on their bods for the blue and white!
Our foes are filled with dread
Whenever Cecil Sagehen flies overhead,
We’re gonna C
We’re gonna H
We’re gonna I-R-P
When Cecil chirps his way to victory
CHIRP!

personally i like cal poly’s and usc’s fight songs the best…but ive never heard a fight song that was particularly good in general

band mom…can you tell me where i can find the audio to that pomona song? i would definitely like to hear it!

stanford! all right now!

I don’t think you can beat Rocky Top (Tennessee).

^^I prefer Fight Songs that were written for a specific school, not adopted by one.
