Hi Everyone. I wonder if you can help me with D2. She is currently a Junior and we are beginning the college search. We are trying to come up with some schools that aren't "heavy" in the requirements area. It seems as though Skidmore and U of Rochester fit the bill (and will be in the "reach" catagory, if she likes them). Any others you can think of off hand? I know about Brown, but we are looking at schools that are reasonable for a B or B+ student to get into. SAT's won't be stellar, perhaps between 1700-1800 and she is not planning on taking the SAT II's. Also, she doesn't want a school that is larger than about 8,000, prefers a 2,500-3,500 student poputlation. Unsure as to what she wants to study. Easy going great kid, wants to learn, but wants to have a good time, too! Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hampshire
Evergreen (on the west coast)
Vassar

There's more, but that's all I can think of. Most schools don't have core requirements, and distribution requirements actually aren't that hard to fulfill, so there's lots of schools to choose from.

wesleyan......

Warblersrule86 - thanks for your suggestions. Hampshire too "tree hugging" (I transfered out after my first semester!), Vassar too hard. I will look at Evergreen though!

david218-Wesleyan is way too hard to get into!

o sorry! i didnt even look at your post, just the title :( ill do a little research and come up with a few later

What does she want to study? That would be an important piece of information to know.

Bard, Goucher, Hamilton, Beloit might work... You will get tree hugging at the open curriculum schools, though I agree Hampshire is still out on the edge. Is Bennington too much like Hampshire?

Hendrix and Earlham are in the zone but I am not sure about the curriculum requirements. Also Muhlenberg, Gettysburg, Lafayette...

Aren't Wesleyan and Rochester roughly the same hard to get into profile?
