Hi my name is Josh. I am a current student at UPenn. I am also one of the co-founders of Real Ivy a website geared towards the Ivy League (www.realivy.com). Visit the site and you will see what I am talking about. We are in the process of relaunching the site this summer after making some updates, and we are gearing up for the new school year.

Right now we are looking for new bloggers for the Columbia section of the site for the upcoming year (the class of 2010 can apply). What does being a blogger entail you ask? Well it is pretty chill. Basically you will write at least 2 blog entries a month about WHATEVER YOU WANT. Think of your blog as your personal editorial space. You can write about anything from current events going on around the world to a story about a walk to class one day. A lot of students attending Ivy League schools and those who will be apply are going to be reading these blogs as well. Also blogging is very easy and won't ever take time from your studying. If any of you are interested in this opportunity please visit the Columbia page at www.realivy.com and click on the bloggers link to apply. If you have any questions feel free to send me a private message.

Also, if you arent interested in being a blogger you can still submit things to the site to be posted.

Of course something with "Ivy" explicitly in the name would come from Penn...

Just kidding. Interesting way to bring the schools together. Let's see if it catches on/lasts.

Sounds like a good idea, if it catches on

Really? Have you actually thought this through?

I can see it garnering a laugh on Bwog someday as this site has.

Yeh see what we want Real Ivy to do is inform current students at these schools and also students wo are dreaming of attending schools like columbia about what the school is actually like. Let's take this Bwog site for example. I didn't even know it exsited and im sure a lot of kids who are applying and maybe even already attending Columbia don't know about it. And it is a site like Bwog which will help kids get a better picture of Morningside Heights and the Columbia culture. So Real Ivy would be the kind of site to open kids eyes to blogs and other resources such as this that they may not even know about.

Now some of you are probably thinking isnt this what college confidential does? No, I don't think so because some many of the threads in all the forums are about "what are my chancess" and "how to write an essay" and usually it is other prospective students answering the questions...

But I am glad you guess are discussing the idea of the site in this forum because that must mean we are on to something.

fyi, bwog and the spectator are the most read student publications at columbia. if a columbia student doesn't know about bwog, then they seriously need to get out of his/her dorm more often.
