5 years at Goldman, or 5 years in the boiler room peddling penny stocks to old ladies?

global investment management company (the job itself isn't extremely impressive, but i'm sure i can make it come off as more interesting than it is in my essay)

..i also have summer internships at entry-level finance kinda positions.

nobody knows? come on, i know theres knowledgable people out there. don't be lazy = )

come on people

If your job isn't impressive, the admissions people probably will be able to tell that you're puffing it up in your essay. People can read between the lines.

Your GPA and GMAT are fine, and you have 5 years of work experience. You'll probably get into a good business school program. Who can say whether Columbia will like you?

everyone on this board is either an undergraduate or prospective undergraduate. we don't know enough information about business school admissions to say anything helpful. you might want to check some admissions sites though.

I don't think that's so true. There's plenty of informed alums and parents floating around on these boards.

I'm a Columbia MBA alum. My bet now is 30-50% chance, get the GMAT over 700 though and you'll be pretty likely. Columbia is very GMAT focused.

thanks a lot everyone! i appreciate it!

oh, and im also worried that by having attendedd a State school, i will be at a disadvantage = (..since my 4 year university isn't very prestigious. any info on that being a factor for columbia, since its an ivy
