Could I get into Columbia, I know it's a reach, or am I just wasting my time...
SAT: 1340 (retaking in Jan- will Columbia consider them??)

Taking challenging courses, AP Spanish, AP Bio this year
ECs: National Honor Society secretary
Academic Team captain
Key Club secretary
Peer Counseling
Earth Club
National Spanish Honor Society
Attended Biotechnology conference in Washington, D.C (only high school to attend)- Presented class data w/ my classmates- Included abstract w/ app.
Work- 15 hours per week
Volunteering- 40 hours per summer for past three summers
Recs- from teachers who knew me really well- good, I think, although I didn't see them
Essays: Good (wrote about my Iranian heritage)
Iranian American (will this help at all) from CT

<p>they will consider your january scores, and that could make a pretty big difference, since the most interesting thing, it seems to me, the biotechnology conference, isn't big enough and time-consuming enough of an EC to make the difference. Of course, you have a shot as is, but the new SATs will help, and you should send them there regular (don't rush scores).</p>
