I think that really helped me. my app was NOT perfect and i still got in. well, congratulations to everyone that got in and to everyone that didn’t - it’s their loss. as cliche as it sounds, you’re all very talented and will end up somewhere amazing.

also, i spent countless hours on this website looking for inspiration so i hope this post helps!

Essays: 10, I believe my essay was one of the main factors that contributed to my acceptance. It was a very genuine and personal letter that gave a lot of insight into who I am as a person

Teacher Rec #1: Math Teacher 9/10 The classes I took from this teacher were not always a walk in the park for me so she has seen my hard work and dedication for years now and I’m sure she wrote about that in her letter
Teacher Rec #2: Literature Teacher 10/10 This teacher is the person who helped me find my voice as a writer and in everyday life. I’m sure he wrote a great letter
Counselor Rec: My counselor has been a family friend for years and he does a great job of talking to teachers to get a full perspective of the students so even thought we don’t have that strong of a personal relationship I think he wrote a pretty good letter

General Comments:
I am still in shock that I got accepted and I will be eternally grateful for everyone that contributed to the process and helped me in any way. My acceptance proves you don’t have to get 5’s on 47 AP’s, be the president of every club at your school, get a 2400 on your SAT and cure cancer on the weekends to get into columbia. Yes you have to be academically qualified but the admission officers saw that how passionate I am about Columbia, how hard I work in every aspect of my life and agreed that I would be a good fit for the school. Congratulations to those who got in and to those who didn’t prove Columbia wrong wherever you choose to go

Im sorry for posting this here. I was accepted into SEAS as a ED applicant. Does Columbia nominate ED applicants to egleston scholars?
Thanks
