is it good or bad. can someone give me review on it?

Kevin: Do a search of the MT forum. This school has been discussed on several threads.

Also search the Carnegie Mellon thread above, for some reason a discussion about Columbia College started there (in the "C's" I guess).

I went to school there for a year and i don't recommend it. Look on the other thread and you'll see why

depends on what u want and what program u get into.... if u want to be a performer then u better get into the bfa cuz the ba is very little in the major..... Columbia is great though for opportunities..... we do at least 20 shows a semester and normally at least 2 and as many as 5 musicals a semester...... any other questions let me know!

I have to disagree with the comment made by Jiddir - "If u want to be a performer then you better get into the bfa..." -- oh please, please don't make such over-generalized comments! There are many, many performers on Broadway right this very minute who never went through a BFA program. In fact, there are many who never graduated from college at all.

There are many differing opinions about BFA vs. BA programs -- I'm not going to get into that argument! My own D is currently in a BFA program because it was the right fit for her -- and that's what it comes down to in the end. A BFA program is very demanding and specific, and it may not be the right choice for everyone. That certainly doesn't mean you can't be a performer!

Sorry, Jiddir, in re-reading your post, I think you may have been referring specifically to Columbia College, rather than any college in general -- but my comments still apply! I'm not familiar with Columbia, but a BA program does not preclude you from being a good performer.

no i refered to all programs.... ba are not performance degrees... i never said u cant be a performer with a ba, but a ba is more of a study program than a performance program like a bfa is... bfa programs are conservatory programs that specialize in training performers and a ba is a more general theatre degree that yes will most likely have performance classes but has much more gen eds and non performance classes!!!!
