I have an interview scheduled for GS tomorrow… I have a thread that I posted separately that is asking for input and any advice. I thought not hearing back for weeks meant that I was definitely out of the running…

Ugh, so nervous. I couldn’t help but tell my boss about it earlier since I needed to request off for the interview date.

I interviewed a week ago. I’ve yet to hear anything. Do we think this is a bad sign? Did anyone else interview with Kari at GS? Does everyone who gets accepted get a phone call?

Thanks knitty. Wow, you heard fast, you must be quite a catch. I interviewed with Ivonne last week. She was really nice, and I think the interview went well, but I’m a little scared since I haven’t heard anything yet. It’s really hard to be patient right now!

this thread is sooo long. ok here I will show my story as a GS admitted student (in some one’s eye, as a back door student)

I used to be a HS student of the “Four Famous HS” in China and would of course enter one of the TOP FOUR UNIVERSITIES in China, but an accident in Senior 3 made me lie in hospital for three months and stayed home for another six months.

After I recovered, I was 19, since I could not enter Chinese universities, I decided to apply foreign universities. As a foreign student, I finished the whole procedure within half a year, including taking TOEFL SAT1 SAT2, writing many PS, and prepared for my own dissertations
(I wrote some dissertataions about International Relationships, Philosophy, Politics, Japan and Eco etc. based on the 6 thousand articles, dissertations and more than fifty books I read during the past two years). it was really too exhausting that when I got the admission letter from GS I gave myself a two-week vacation.

I am sure no one here wish an accident to send him/her into GS, thanks to GS cuz it gives me a chance to continue my story.

So I start learning Advanced Math myself and even begin playing the piano again. I also do some Forex to earn a little money ^_^ (forex is really a very dangerous game.)

Here I sincerely wish every undergraduate student in CU, no matter CC/SEAS/GS will success in the future, and my dream is to earn a lot of money and establish a free school in my homeland for the poor children in mountainous areas.

Hey allyn – Not sure about being a catch or not – but they said that they’d be wrapping all decisions up by mid-July. I know how anxious you must feel. I really hope you hear back soon.

For me, if the anxiety reaches a certain point, hearing a rejection back is almost a relief compared to the anticipation. I consider myself lucky that I heard back as quickly as I did though I’m trying not to get too excited because I’m not sure what my financial options are yet.

I am wondering if there is a way for them to tell you what they can do regarding aid and stuff before you send the acceptance letter back…

Just got my call this afternoon! For those of you who interviewed a while ago and still haven’t heard; she said they’re just getting to a lot of the decision making this week. I waited nearly two weeks, so don’t be too worried. Good luck to everyone!

Gosh!!! Theres got to be a miracle somewhere…a whoppn $67,000.00 per year! Wooooow! Just $15,000 in federal loans. hmmmm. My last option will be a huge institutional scholarship cos I can’t take dat chunk of money from private lenders. How can I be down to $250,000 in debt for just an undergraduate degree? This can preclude any graduate study. Frankly, this is the only part of GS that sucks!!! Anybody has an idea how to go abt this?

I am so nervous everyone. I have applied to the GS on 6/1/09 and took the GS exam on 6/19/09. Until today, I have not received any interview request or phone calls. Yesterday I emailed Kristina McElroy, and here is her response.

""We have received your high school transcript and your application has been reviewed.
Can you please confirm the mailing address you would like a decision sent to? I believe something was sent out last week to a New York address.
Cheers,
Kristin “”

I received this email yesterday, and I am not sure what she meant by “something”.
Do you think “something” is a decision letter or something else? I guess it is a decision letter, right? I have not received any interview request, and phone calls, which make me so scared. When the GS gives out acceptance decision, do they call or just send out a mail to applicants? Please give me any advice :)

Good night everyone :(

p.s. the email that she sent makes me feel bad because if I got accepted, and they already sent out a decision letter last week, she could say “congrats! You got accepted! XYZ!” on email, which she didn’t, and it makes me feel that I got rejected. T…T

Go for 6 credits your first two semesters, do very well, get more money. That 67k number is meant to include everything including food and housing.
