Hi guys,

I'm new to CC but as a reader, I've been actively reading up. Columbia's my dream school. I come from the top school here in Singapore and I perform consistently about the median there. I'm about to enter my junior year; so, what should I pay attention to in the next year or two?

If you've been actively reading up you should at least know the basics of what to do. I'm sure you've heard key things like:
1. Focus on a running thread for your ECs
2. Do well in your SATs
3. Maintain a high rank/GPA
4. Maintain good relationships with all your teachers etc
5. Focus on figuring out what your strengths are so that you can bring that into your essay etc
6. Write well.

Heyy.
I have heard of those. Thanks for your advice. I do believe I write well and this has been acknowledged by English teachers all the way from elementary school. However I come from the toughest school in the country and hence I believe my rank may not be up to par. And just a doubt about teacher recs, can the same ones be used for multiple colleges?
