So, I got a packet in the mail today that gave directions to, among other things, activate my uni and email address. I did what it said to, but the website told me that I didn't provide sufficient information, or something like that. Is it just too early, still, to access my account, or is it just being weird?

Nevermind, it's still too early. I answered my own question. Sorry.

In the mail? I haven't got mine yet ;).

I guess it takes a while before we're in the systems.

Okay, I got mine. You'll probably have to wait until June as they said in the thingy.

You guys might now have to wait that long. I'm a 2010'er, and when I just looked at my cubmail, the oldest email was from May 23rd. And I don't know if I sent/received emails the first day I had cubmail. So it might be sooner than you think. All I really used cubmail for over the summer was having a cool-looking ivy league email address for job apps, and facebook and dogears.

Yep. And you get a lot of discounts when you use that email at places like Dell.

I really dislike Dell, what about Asus though?

I don't think they have any discounts for students because they mostly do their sales through resellers. You might find them from the resellers.

my friend from penn told me that when he visited, their campus computer store/center gave him a better deal on a mac than apple was offering him w/education discount. does columbia have anything similar?

I believe they do but you need a uni id to access that area of their store. It's only a guess so you'll have to ask someone who's already at Columbia for sure.

all you have to do to get your email is:
1) go to columbia.edu
2) in the upper-righthand corner of the page, type in your name and search 'people'
3) your name should come up in the directory
4) your email is right there and everything before the @columbia.edu is your uni
5) go to uni.columbia.edu and activate new account. and fill out the info

and magic! email.

To all the int. students: You will need to wait for your temp ID, until then you'll have to continue to suffer, :(

Non international students, TRY YOUR EMAILS NOW!

Most non-internationals have their emails by now. cries

Gives pear a pat on the back

takes a new tissue-->starts to cry like a river while listenging to Justin T's song, lol... ok the 2nd thing was made up, :D
