Hi guys! Don’t really know what to say tbh - congratulations, I guess?? I just wanted to create a chat for all the deferred applicants this year to see where we go from here and I guess just update each other with what else we are doing and where else we are applying - how do you feel?
Hi! I got deferred as well! Does anyone know how many deferrals they accept during the regular round?
I’ve heard the percentage is quite low - like around 7% - in past years they have deferred a lot of the applicants who ED so not sure if the chances are too high tbh
lol brb gonna cry
Same - but I think there is still some hope. On the 2025 discussion thread I found more people were rejected than deferred. I know that is quite a low sample size but still. If less people were deferred that does mean there is a higher chance that we do get through.
Do you know anybody differed from Columbia who has gotten in?
I also got deferred I think I read that last year about 17% of Columbia ED applicants were accepted, about 20% deferred, and the rest were rejected. From that, I think it means that everyone who got deferred definitely still has a chance!
I’ve read a similar statistic! I have heard that out of the deferred applicants 7% are admitted - don’t know how accurate this is but thats about 65 out of about 900.
Not Columbia but I know some students from Stanford, Cornell and Princeton who have let’s just hope for the best
My friend was deferred from Columbia last year (co 2020) and later got accepted in the spring!
oh damn fr?? could you please forward their email or put them onto this thread?? would love to get some tips
what were their stats and how did they write their LOCI??
