@AurumReichert @bobsthename I would LOVE for you all to try! I called around two weeks ago to ask a question (the received dates for my SAT on my portal changed and I wanted to know what that meant) and when I asked for a timeline they gave me nothing. So please buck up the courage to call and ask ??
@mamabear336 I’ll send them an email today and call next Monday if I don’t hear back, not sure what the delay means but I have to imagine it’s not a positive thing

I just received my acceptance letter via portal!!! I’m over the moon. I hope the financial aid package is generous.

@Doodlesack yes I received an email stating “…that an update has been to your application. …log-in to the status portal…” Now I’m worried about the financial aid package. From everything I’ve read, they are not as generous as the other schools.

As a guideline: as a new students you usually get in between 9000-12000$ of scholarship from Columbia GS for your first year. If you‘re lucky and eligible for outside scholarships (for example if you‘re in an honor society) you can receive more.
I recently talked to a fin aid officer at GS and she said that she‘s never seen anyone receive more than 20000$ in scholarships their first year.
However, the scholarship you get usually increases if your GPA is above 2.7.

Applying last minute here. Does anyone know how long it takes to for Columbia to receive the GSAE (Accuplacer) scores after the exam is finished? How long do they give you to complete the essay?
Does anybody know when I would be able to move in if I receive UAH housing? I set my expected move-in date as mid-July in my HAH application but I doubt I can get it then.
Just wanted to say I bit the bullet and sent them an email asking about a timeline. I also uploaded an unofficial transcript including my grades for the past semester to help the process along ?♀️ I’m kinda thinking the worst already given the hold up. Continued prayers for all who are waiting to hear.
@mamabear336 Fingers crossed! Hopefully, their reply comes with good news. I assume you applied Early Action, right? I have been waiting for 2 weeks and I am beyond stressed, can’t imagine what it would feel like to be waiting for over 2 months. In any case, I really hope you hear back from them soon!
@bluethinker no, regular decision, but it has been over two months. I once was just a bundle of nerves, but I’m full blown anxiety on legs now. It sucks lol.
@ctrl12 They got my results the day after I did the GSAE. You get an hour for the essay part. Are you still applying for Fall 2019? Isn’t the deadline June 1?
