I emailed them last week, they refused to give me a timeframe for a decision.
Do you think it would be helpful if I add personal achievements to my application as an update? For example, I participated in a robotics session with an expert from my country and a personal brand/marketing session with experts from the company. I work for Like, I do not know if these things could help improve my chances or if I would, instead, look desperate?
@bluethinker I’ve been tempted to upload things, but I have to believe my application stands strong without it. It’s hard to believe that one or two extra evidences of our unbelievable hard work and success will sway their decision. We all deserve it, it’s just a question of whether or not we are lucky enough to get it.
hey guys, i have submitted financial aid application in mid-May and i haven’t received any word.
so I emailed them, but they say “Students do not receive financial aid information until they are admitted.”
any thoughts?
@gendarme you will receive a financial aid offer if you are accepted. They don’t budget you until they reach that decision.
Speaking of, anyone here hoping to be one of the few to get the new community college scholarship?
@mamabear336 what is the new community college scholarship that you speak of?
@mamabear336 I got accepted and was not told anything about financial aid
@fintin i got accepted on June 5 and didn’t get any financial aid yet. should i give up getting it?
what’s your situation?
@gendarme you receive your financial aid offer a few weeks after you have returned the planned enrollment form (which you can fill out once you’ve been accepted, that‘s why you don‘t automatically receive it with admission). It’s not an official acceptance form but just for Columbia to know whether you’ll be a full or part time student.
Does anyone know if the Remote Academic Session requires turning on the web camera? Or is it just like a presentation? I have it today and the email only says that I need google chrome without mentioning the camera, so I just made the assumption that I don’t need to turn on the camera.
@Mabbbs How was the remote academic session?
I also did the remote planning session yesterday. You don’t need a webcam of your own. The representative from the school will be the only one on video, and beneath the video is a chat for students to ask questions. To the right of the screen is a slideshow that they go through, explaining the core degree requirements and important parts of the student account login area. They also briefly explain how to register for classes online. The session lasted about 90 minutes.
@ArtemisMoon Were you able to access to the credit evaluation of the spring semester? I got entrance credit report file which did not include spring semester via email, so I was wondering if I can get the evaluation of the spring semester then
Any updates? Still waiting, about to be three months. ?
I would contact someone if you submitted your application by March 1. Submissions by June 1 will be notified by July 20, per the website.
@Ruberi I regret not having completed it in time for the Early Action…I submitted after the March 1st deadline, but only just. Does anyone else not have the fear that it will be too late to still reasonably register for a full time selection of Fall classes??
@SMSNYAL
It took about a month after I sent my final transcript before they reviewed it and sent me an updated credit evaluation report. But I was originally accepted for spring and had to defer, so my final semester at my old school was fall 2018 and I sent the final transcript in April. They might be backed up right now if a lot of people had to wait until mid May to send their final grades.
Has anyone who applied around the June 1st deadline heard anything recently? I now am, of course, wishing I completed everything earlier, but I’m still hopeful that those of us who applied right at the end of this cycle will hear something before the July 20th date!
@mamabear336 Honestly, I do too. I have another offer that I have to decide by July 10th, but I would prefer Columbia
I applied on April 19th, got everything in a week later, and I’m still waiting on a response. Really need a decision from Columbia soon because sooner or later I have to choose a school
