I recently got into the Columbia High School Summer Program and I was wondering if I should do it. I am a bit on the fence here because of many things. One, the price. The price is a no-go because it’s almost $6,000 for 3 weeks with (i think) no college credits. I am not sure if its worth it, however, the course is something I am super passionate about. It’s Introduction to Neuroscience: Understanding the Brain. I have gone to great lengths to get recommendations from teachers so if I don’t do it I feel like it would have gone to waste. Please let me know if you or anyone you know has done it and what they liked and didn’t like about it.
I feel like it depends on whether or not you have other options for your summer. If not, then I recommend doing it if you’re able to afford it; if you have other options, look around and decide which one do you prefer.
I really understand the money issue. I’m planning on going this summer for a journalism course. I personally believe that if your going to be doing something you love, you’ll find the money to do it.
