Columbia "Interests" Section

What do they expect out of the Interests section? (Such as list your favorite books for pleasure, required readings, etc.) Do they literally want one to LIST them out? Or do they want us to put it in essay format, how it impacted us, etc.? Also, how much impact does it have if one read more challenging books for pleasure versus something more simple?

I believe you just list. I don’t have anything for the concerts, performances, etc, lol.

I think list is the norm.

Be yourself. Try not to lie.

So you dont even come close to filling the 300 word limit, correct? How many listed? It’s not that I am trying to lie. I have several books I read over the past year, it’s just that some are less formal than others and I am wondering which ones to list. Thanks!

I have no clue if we should include the author’s name or not. I feel like putting the author for every single book is stupid, but I also feel like it’s less clear if the author’s name isn’t written.

I guess we’ll just have to put it simple, like listing the most enjoyed ones first, no matter how formal or challenging they are. We’re supposed to be ourselves, right?

I listed the books in the order I enjoyed them. I don’t read very much, haha, but I’ve read some really good books on physics!

There’s no 300 WORD limit. It’s 300 CHARACTERS! That would mean that even your list will be quite a brief one.
