Interests section of the application - what did you put?

Looking at the applications for next year's incoming class I see the section that asks you to list which books you read for pleasure, assigned books you enjoyed most, print/electronic publications you read regularly, and films, performances, exhibits, concerts, shows etc. you enjoyed most.

I'm curious as to what everyone put!

Also they say they must be 'in the past year,' however will I be docked anything if I put a concert that was two years ago, and if I do should I specify that it wasn't in the past year but that I'm including it cause it was one of the best things I've ever seen, or just not mention that haha.

many thanks!

I wrote the truth.
books: 1984, the unbearable lightness of being, a brief history of time… and some other stuff
assigned books: animal farm, madame bovary, 100 years of solitude
print electronic publications: the economist, bbcworld.com
films/performances: The grudge (I love scary movies), Darjeeling limited, pinaple express, WALL-E (I wrote a lot of movies), Shonen Knife rock concert.

you can put a concert if it was two years ago. they won’t know. What is important is not that it was two years ago but that you enjoyed it a lot. They just want to get to know a little about your character and interests.

I hope that helped

i put the truth too but i can’t quite remember which ones because i didnt list a lot of the books i enjoyed in the past year
personal: i’m a HUGE fan of ayn rand and steinbeck (fountainhead, atlas shrugged, east of eden), master and margarita (which i highly recommend!!!) and a few more i think
assigned: sound and the fury, crime and punishment, madame bovary, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, a few more
publications: nat’l geo, the strad
films/performances: hitch, zoolander, amelie, les choristes, and i enjoyed a bunch of classical concerts

good luck!!!
