No. At least not correctly inferred.
Is it alright to tell people about the likely acceptance? like mentors etc.
@JG8888 If you trust them, I don’t think telling them will cause a problem.
Are all likely letters already sent?
During previous years they used to send out a 3rd wave in March too.
Has anyone received likelys in March?
I don’t think so. I haven’t seen any on here or on Reddit.
Thanks, @u392302 !
I’d love to get one…let’s hope there’s another wave coming.
Any news on further likely letters being sent? I would have thought they’d be sent last week, but maybe they are done now.
Wondering the same. So far only two waves! Last year, a wave was sent on the first Monday of March. Are likelys done for the year? Just wondering.
Is being asked to finish financial aid with no penalties this late in the game a good sign?
While I know this is important to some, I think Columbia is more concerned about how to manage the rest of the semester for 6200 current undergrads given COVID-19 instead of a handful of LLs… Ivy Day will be here soon enough, and I doubt that day will move. Only a small percentage get LLs anyway, so focus on the big picture.
Thanks @skieurope
However, isn’t the sole duty of the admissions teams reading and selecting applications and travelling to US cities, other countries, and creating publications to persuade more people to apply?
I think there was another round put out today!
Yes. Likely today.
My son got one via email this evening.
Got a likely last night!
Yes, my daughter got a likely letter last night!
It was quite a nice surprise, as we hadn’t heard of that before.
I got one Feb. 27 for Fu Foundation Engineering!!! Also C. Prescott Davis Scholar!!! So excited!!! International student from Colombia, 1500 SAT. One of my friends also from the same city in Colombia got a likely letter to the college of arts and sciences.
congrats @randomstudentt can I know which country you’re from?
Think about it. They may still be reading apps, finishing some areas, depending on the volume received. A Likely stands out early. These kids aren’t just moderately compelling and adcoms don’t throw darts. If anything, the order would be absolutely certain kids they want before other great ones they hope to capture. They may have a hard deadline when they stop, but none of us know that.
Ski is right. It’s 10 days to Ivy Day. Wait and see.
And assuming nothing goes askew, the colleges present a LL as being as good as an admit.
