From all of us ED students for Columbia 2018, we wish you the best of luck this afternoon and are excited to get to know you guys! Just remember that no matter what happens tonight, opportunities will exist for you either way as long as you work hard for them, and the fact that you are at such a caliber to apply to a school like Columbia means that you have what it takes to succeed regardless of what the admissions office tells you today.

Son waitlisted. I guess that is good after reject at yale, Harvard, princeton. I feel bad for him as he worked very hard, No 1 in class, 2310 SATs first try, no preps or coaching, 8 APs with 5s on 4 of them, not tested the rest yet, 34 ACT, national merit finalist, He had no great hook or passion like serving in Africa or writing a symphony at age 12. I blame myself for being lower middle class, no family connections or pull and white. Best of luck to those that did get in!!!

@colldid Hey I just happen to see this and seriously you should not be blaming yourself! It’s HYP and a vast majority of top students are rejected…it’s not anyone’s fault

I was accepted to columbia and uchicago while being rejected at harvard, princeton, and brown (and wait listed at penn), don’t blame yourself at all it can be very random
