I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered, but does anyone have the breakdown of transfer rates for the two colleges of Columbia?

I dont think columbia publishes the data for separate schools for transfer admissions but the general opinion is that engineering has a higher acceptance rate than College as is the case in freshmen admissions but it really depends on the yield for every school at Columbia…also once you transfer into columbia you cannot switch schools

I thought that CC had a much lower admit rate than SEAS, but today at the information session for transfers, dean Weisbord mentioned how the number of students accepted for fall 2009 admission into SEAS was around 20 (I think it was a bit lower actually, but I do not recall the exact number). So, this got me thinking.

My problem is both schools offer my major (applied mathematics). So, I am debating where I should apply to by looking at where I would have a better chance of being admitted–since the majors are nearly identical from either school within the university.

Well in any case it is very selective and i don’t think it really matters much also it depends that whether you want to be around engineers or you prefer a more liberal arts touch
