ED to college

how many ppl submitted apps already

i didn't fill up the required readings cause we didn't even read that many books last year, let alone that many i liked!

I submitted! But the deadline isn't that far away now. One week

I've submitted as well! SEAS ED. I'm really excited and nervous. Mid-Dec can't come quickly enough, can it.

I put down Dark Knight lol.

I'm applying to SEAS, ED. Finally rose my test scores high enough to have a decent shot (rose 200 points to 290)

Anyone writing the abstract? i'm having writers block.

I was going to submit mine yesterday too, but decided to just do it today. I went to the site though & saw this: "Due to a system upgrade, the 2008-2009 online Application for First-Year Admission is currently unavailable. Please check back later to access our application."

It'll be fixed soon right? Am I the only one applying early who didn't submit it yet?

nop im submitting monday.

Oh, okay. Thanks =) That makes me feel better

and for the part where it asks about the "exhibits, shows, concerts, etc" they mean broadway shows right? b/c I haven't seen any.. but was going to list television shows instead haha.. is that a bad idea?

omg... do u guys think that they'll fix the site by the 1st?

and... is the deadline the 31st? or the 1st?

haha jmeelym, i think it's Broadway shows and performances...but i dunno though, I've never thought about putting shows in. Hmm Chuck's definitely in there! :P

two questions...

1) Do you think it would look excessively bad if I submitted my application the day it was due...NOvember 1??? I'm kind of neurotic about editing essays, and think that an extra day could actually help...

2) Also, contrary to most people here, I have a very extensive book list from the past year (about two pages more/less) and a lot of my books are pretty academic/rather obscure (ex. Arabic Thought in the Liberal Age, Political Suicide in Latin America, Development With a Human Face), so I need to include the authors. Would it hurt to attach an additional booklist in "additional information"?

Also, what should I do about books written in other languages...?

lol kiwiskimo, that's what I thought it was (referring to Broadway).. unfortunately, my interests section is not like super classy or anything. I'm going to list tv shows and films (but mostly movies).

Has anybody else noticed that even though it says the First Year application is currently unavailable you can still login as if everything was normal?

yeah i dunno what's going on

i don't think ur book list will be THAT influential...
and the additional info space is for stuff that is extremely important in their understanding of you as an applicant.

^ Yea I agree with valentinocuevas.

i just submitted my application!

congrats!10char

to answer above question: I put a book that I read in French, and I just left the title in French but added the author. He is pretty well-known though so it wasn't that much of a problem.

I wouldn't add more books in the Additional Information section. They're just curious about your interests, they're not going to reject you because you forgot to mention that you read War and Peace or something.
