Early Decision Admissions

Well, its mid-March and we are fast approaching the time when Early Decisions will start going out for Fall of 2010.

When you receive your acceptance/rejection, let us know by posting here! I would like to know what day you received it, how you received it (US mail, email, FedEx) and any other fun info you want to include.

I know the waiting game can be painful, so I think it would help to know when people are starting to receive their decision.

Hi!
Thanks for starting a great thread!
When are the notifications scheduled to be made?

It’s a rolling process, 4-6 weeks from the date Columbia received all of your admissions materials. For people that had everything in by March 1, you may only have two more weeks to wait (I’m so jealous)!

For people that took the GSAE after the March 1 ED deadline, it is 4-6 weeks from the date the GSAE results are recorded in the system.

For what it is worth, when I took the GSAE this past Saturday, the women who was facilitating said that no decisions would be communicated via e-mail, everything would be by mail (she didn’t say FedEx, but I assume that’s still possible).

Its so nice to think that I may have only two weeks left, but rest assured I will be sweating bullets if I have to wait until closer to the six-week time frame!

Thank you!!!

Today officially opens the 4-6 week window for GS ED hopefuls. Good Luck everyone!

I just got a call from admissions - I’m accepted! Ahh! I can’t believe it!

They said they are FedExing me a packet today, so hopefully I will get it tomorrow. I hope you guys are also getting good news today!

Congratulations AMorrison. that’s really fast, in four weeks? happy for you.

Thank you! It was actually more like two as my application wasn’t complete until I took the GSAE, which I did on March 13.

Congratulations! Did you get a phone call?

Congratulations, that’s great! When did you submit your application? Did it take a while till they notified you? I’m still waiting :(

Erica from the admissions office gave me a call at a little before 10am this morning (it was such a shock to have a call that early on a Monday!)

I submitted my application the day before the deadline for ED. So they heald true to the 4-6 week rule with me.

Nice! I’m glad it worked out for you!!! I can imaging how much of a shock it was receiving a call at 10 in the morning being told you got into Columbia
I guess will just have to sit back and wait… Just be patient, haha, not really one of my strengths!
