Columbia University '13 EARLY DECISION

I'm applying ED to the College.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

pretty much sums that up.

December 15th = Judgement Day

I heard a Columbia admissions officer answer the question about books, she said that if books was a really big thing for you that it was fine for you to use a list of the books you have a read as the additional information. Maybe if you could add a little one line thing on why you really enjoyed that book it would make it more personal.

i just submitted my eary application to SEAS! I can't believe time flew by that fast, it felt like yesterday that I was reading the class of 2012 results :)

and really soon we will be reading the class of 2013 results! how strange is that!

Mind-numbing and terrifying are the words that come to mind for me. I've read over the 2012 ED results at least 5 times within the past month

I really hope that not EVERYONE put the Dark Knight, because its seeming that way lol.

I know someone made a post about interviews but I don't think anyone followed through... has anyone here gotten an e-mail for one?

No, but my friend got an email from an alumnus in the area to schedule one for this tuesday.

I did not put the Dark Night.

I didn't put The Dark Knight....
and, no I have not been contacted for an interview, not surprising since I live in Florida...
and as for stats mine are not great....1410/1600
Here's to hoping.

I put The Dark Knight. :)
Just submitted mine.
Best of luck to everyone.

Didn't put the Dark Night and my interview's today

Does the interviewer actually get to see our application? I have an interview next week and I was wondering if he would have any knowledge of my background.

I'm from Florida too, but I did get contacted

Interviewers will not see your application. All they will have is your name, contact information, whether you are applying to CC or SEAS, and your 3 academic and extracurricular interests you placed on your application. They will not have your transcript or test scores. Most interviewers I know appreciate your bringing with you a resume or activity list - It give us something to talk with you about and gives us an idea of your interests.

Thanks WiseOWL for clearing that up for me. I will surely bring along a resume to give the interviewer an overview of my interests. It's too bad though that my interviewer attended SEAS and majored in Computer Science (as he mentioned in his email), while I am applying to CC and intend to major in History. Divergent interests, but I guess that's okay.

I was also wondering--what questions are normally asked in a Columbia interview? Also, could you give us some general tips for the interview? Thanks so much, WiseOWL!

hey everyone i'm just wondering...what is the deal with tracking your application online? it says i can check the status of it after November 10...what exactly does that mean?

i think it means even though it had to be submitted by nov 1, on the 10th you can check & see which parts of the application they have received (your recommendations, actual application, transcripts, etc) & that way you know, in case anything is missing what you would need to send in

i put 'i hope they serve beer in hell' as a filler when i first started my apps, but i forgot to take it off when i submitted my app.

i just hope they think i'm hilarious.

I'm applying to CC for early and I'm pretty stressed out.
