Columbia University '13 EARLY DECISION

this girl in my school EDing to brown found out today... but she was recruited for golf, sooooo she got her results early unofficially from the coach. :( SO JEALOUS

A guy from my school got his results for Columbia about two weeks ago.. he got recruited too.. he always wears his CU shirt around and I'm so jealous of him! haha

wow 2900 applicants. thats up 800 from last year.

A 15% increase from last year is INSANE. I'm really hoping its 2900 applicants for both SEAS and CC... if it was for only CC that would really be terrible for me...

Every single day I come home from school, WAITING to get an email telling me about the date!

aw it's so nice how on the 2011 thread there's a bunch of kids from other forums coming in to congratulate.. how kind of them!

ok terrible idea to go in those threads.. DONT DO IT GUYS!
not only was i feeling the stress as if i was waiting for decisions right then, but the news were generally bad.. oh man i am so terrified right now.

after you get past the first few pages of nervous excitement, and the rejections start coming in, with kids being rejected with better stats then yours... yeah it gets a little scary. haha I can't believe those nervous people will be us in a little more then a week!

seriously.. i got to the point where the only person who had been accepted and had posted stats had almost perfect SAT scores.. that was enough for me..

Yeaaaahh. I accidentally went into 2012's when I was writing my essay for Columbia and it gave me a huge writer's block for a while. A lot of people got rejected last year...and our year is supposed to be worse.

I just want this sweatshirt ---> Product Detail - The Columbia University Bookstore

I LOVE the CU Later on the back. And yeah, 09 is supposed be a huge class, so I'm really scared.

Hey guys, I'm applying ED to CC also. After reading this, its nice to know that Columbia gets out its EDs relatively early, but also a bit discomforting, because that makes the date even closer.... Good Luck to everyone!!

Ben Chuchla

I bought a T-Shirt for 19.99 when I visited and am waiting to wear it if I get accepted. I better....or I'm going to burn it.

i almost bought that sweatshirt haha but i was unsure about that whole CU later thing.. so i just bought a shirt instead.. i also did not want to spend 40 bucks on a sweatshirt for a school that I may or may not get into..

hahah entr0py.. i wore my shirt once.. and it will not be worn again unless i get in...

Haha. You guys too?
I've planned out what I will buy if I get in.
I really really really look forward to this hypothetical situation.

On the 7% chance I get in, it's MINE.

Hell yes, the second I get in (hopefully), im dropping all my Teen Tournament winnings on Columbia apparel.

i love how i've found people who are equally obsessive about Columbia..
i look forward to having the opportunity to wear my shirt on the day after decisions come out..

^ omg....that in black looks so tite. I must get that !!!(7% chance)

isn't the ED chance more around 20%?

"Gender Breakdown: 52% male 48% female "

I got that from the Admissions Statistics for Class of '12

Does that mean females get affirmative action this time around?
