**~Columbia University Fall 2017 Transfer Thread~**

Hey guys. I got accepted after getting waitlisted last year as a Freshman applicant! Congrats to all the other admits! Do any of you guys know if there’s a facebook page for transfer admits?

Congratulations to everybody who got accepted! Wait-listed here…

@LAtonewyork Could you PM your stats too please? I applied but I’m afraid to check, but I think I have a good shot.

@MDstudy I’m in the same situation. I don’t think it means anything

@sungjong How did you do? I know you really wanted to go to Columbia.

Accepted. Neuroscience and Behavior. 4.08 GPA from Cornell (3.93 on midterm). 2240 SAT. Thinking I might attend UPenn instead though, so I guess that leaves a spot open on the waitlist! Best of luck to all.

Rejected from CS :frowning:

Here are my stats, if anyone cares:
->3.80 GPA, second place in a 200-student class (CS)
->1570 on the new SAT
->116 iBT TOEFL
->Leadership position at school Student Union and club
->Community service with kids for 100+hrs, as project manager at the same time
->Summer camp counselor in NY(Visited Columbia during my time off)
->Great LoR, both from profs that knew me well and enthusiastically supported my transfer
->Co-authorship of a paper about machine learning, pending publication at an IEEE conference

Accepted for Econ. Applied as a junior. 3.9 GPA from a CUNY and 1520 SAT.

I’m so happy! Columbia has been my dream school since sophomore year of high school and I can’t believe they actually accepted me!

Good luck to everyone else! :slight_smile:

Wow, really high SAT scores ^ I got in with 1350 new SAT which I’m sure brings their class profile stats down lol. I also was accepted for Econ though I want to get into Financial Economics.

Having a REALLY difficult time deciding between Berkeley HAAS and Columbia. Any advice? Looking to gpursue Law afterward preferably at an Ivy.

@alicenycbound97 Which CUNY are you coming from? I’m coming from one too, as a sophomore. Haven’t checked my decision yet.

@alicenycbound97 I am a junior Econ transfer too!

Anyone else on the waitlist? Do you know what a supplemental statement might look like? They already have a Why Columbia, Why Columbia Community, and a Why this Field of Study from the first essays…

@REDX36 Nice! I’m from Baruch. What about you?

Macaulay at CCNY! Polysci major, 4 A’s and 1 B+ in the Fall, 1 A+, 3 A’s, and 1 A- on my midterm report.

Accepted here! Look forward to seeing you this fall

Accepted. Com sci major, international student, female; currently in some TOP 20 university, transfer as a rising junior, first time applying to Columbia.

My stats here, if it helps :wink:

College GPA: 3.87 (withdrew from a math class last semester with a W)
Old SAT: 2160 (710 reading)
iBT Toefl: 111 (26 speaking)

College EC’s:
Head TA for 2 semesters, undergrad research assistant, professional Engineering Sorority, exec member of a school club.

Rec letter:
I have been taking three graduate student level classes in my sophomore year, so I asked one of the professors to write a letter. Guess it was a strong one. Another letter was from my Physics professor and my lab section TA. Kind of related to my major.

I am still waiting for results from other universities. Best luck to everyone!

Could you share stats if you dont mind? @flowereater

I was waitlisted, and it made me realize how much I’d actually like to attend Columbia. Really annoyed it adds a full month & half to this transfer process waiting to hear back
